 "Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day." Greetings everyone! The new school year has begun, and right around the corner from that comes the beginning of a new year of ministry at North Park Covenant Church! The writer of Psalm 96 praises God for His great works of salvation on behalf of His people. The writer encourages everyone ("all the earth") to praise God, and to do so by singing a new song. Over the past few years, this phrase- sing a new song- has been present in my heart and mind. In my reflection on it, I have come to realize that our praises to God should always be fresh and sincere, full of thanksgiving and happiness. This kind of joy and excitement seems to come easy when beginning something new, so I encourage all of us to find new ways to praise God as we begin a new ministry year in the life of our church. Let us find fresh ways to praise God for His presence among us, for t His love and care for us, for all of the opportunities that He will provide for us over the coming months, and for all the great things He will do in our midst. May our worship, our service, and our fellowship be honoring to Jesus our savior throughout the next ministry year! God's blessing, Pastor |
